The exquisite greenish-blue zircons in this pair of earrings will be the envy of everyone with whom you come in contact. Their uniquely bold color is intensified when paired with dozens of glimmering white diamonds and set in 18 Kt white gold.  These earrings are designed to showcase the extraordinary zircons so they reflect light and sparkle brilliantly as you move. Not to be confused with cubic zirconia, a zircon stone is a fiery, transparent gemstone which has been around for centuries, being particularly popular in Victorian times and frequently mistaken for diamond. 

GORDON'S DESIGN NOTES: "When visiting the shop of my trusted supplier, Darvesh, in Bangkok, I was immediately struck by the unusual color of these zircon gemstones. The hint of green in the brilliant blue hue, coupled with the fire in the stones captivated me. I knew immediately I had to create a design that allowed these gemstones to stand out and not allow the eye to be distracted away."

Care:
As with all pierced earrings, keep the earring findings clean and free of dirt and oil build-up. Wash your hands before putting on or removing pierced earrings to minimize the potential for infection.

When dressing, fine jewelry should always be the last item put on and the first item taken off to minimize the gemstones coming into contact with perfume, lotions, hair products, etc.

Protect your jewelry from impact against hard surfaces and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces. All gemstones, including diamonds, can chip, scratch, or abrade under the right circumstances.

Zircon is particularly vulnerable to hard blows, so do not subject them to rough wear, such as during sports and workouts. Avoid extended exposure to bright sunlight and ultrasonic and steam cleaning.

With wear, rhodium plating can thin to the point where a yellowish tinge may show through. Periodic re-coating with rhodium will revive the original bright white color. Re-plating does not damage the gemstones.

Hinged hoop closures with notched posts can be quite secure. When putting them on and closing the hinge, listen for the post to click in place. Gently try to pull the front hinged section from the back section to assure the post is securely in place.
