When a woman wears pearls, she exudes confidence. Something magical happens when pearls touch her body. They become a part of her, absorbing her warmth and spirit, reflecting her radiance back to the world. Akoya pearls are the most popular of all pearl varieties. They are particularly well known for their white color, their mirror-like sheen and perfectly round shape. The 7.0 to 7.5 mm diameter Akoya cultured pearls in this necklace are creamy white in color with medium rose’ and light green overtones. They were born from saltwater oysters in the waters of Japan and are excellently matched, with clean surfaces and excellent luster. The two-toned 14 kt cast yellow gold safety clasp with a rhodium accent is not only delicate and stylish, but capable of every day wear. Purchase this exquisite cultured akoya pearl bracelet with confidence that it will fit after reading our blog post about measuring your wrist and determining ideal bracelet length!

Gordon’s Design Notes: I wanted to add another bracelet option to my product offerings and decided to go with a classic, yet timeless look. I decided on a classic pearl bracelet, but for me, the key was to use high quality materials. So, this bracelet is more about the high quality pearls and clasp than it is about cutting edge design. Sometimes, there is nothing wrong with sticking to the tried and true.

Care:
Pearls are meant to be worn, but they are also delicate and require thoughtful care. The nacre, the material which creates the pearl, is absorbent, so pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
Care specifics:
Protect all your jewelry from impact against hard surfaces. Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces. All gemstones, including diamonds, can chip, scratch or abrade under the right circumstances. Ultrasonic and chemical cleaners should be avoided.
Care Specifics Continued:
Your pearls should not come in contact with cosmetics, hairspray, perfume, ammonia and chlorine, etc. Routinely check the strings holding your pearls to ensure they’re secure. Periodically restring.
Care Specifics Continued:
With wear, rhodium plating can thin to the point where a yellowish tinge may show through. Periodic re-coating with rhodium will revive the original bright white color. Re-plating does not damage the gemstones.
Cleaning:
After wearing pearls, wipe them clean with a soft dry, or damp, cloth. It is best to clean pearl jewelry by soaking them in a mixture of lukewarm water containing a gentle dish washing liquid. Wash them with a soft cloth.
Cleaning Continued:
Do not use a toothbrush or any other abrasive material to clean pearl jewelry. Rinse the jewelry thoroughly to remove all soap. Place the pearls on a lint-free cloth and gently pat them to remove excess water. Air dry.
