This classic, yet timeless necklace can be worn for almost any occasion. The regal purple color of the 8.17 ct amethyst center stone stands out among the blend of silver, black and classic yellow gold tones of the necklace’s metals. The heavy wheat style chain and the majority of the sturdy pendant are made of sterling silver treated with black rhodium to give a dark, radiant luster with a cool, edgy feel. The prongs which hold the amethyst in place are made of 18 kt yellow gold, further accentuating its lovely purple color.

Gordon’s Design Notes: I wanted to gain experience with consumer response to sterling silver jewelry, but was reluctant to create my own line at this time. I decided, instead, to start by offering a few products manufactured by other companies. It had to be the right product and company, though. After seeing this piece, I felt it fit perfectly with other pieces in my collection.

Specifics::
Like any plated finish, rhodium plating will fade over time with wear. When the necklace’s plating begins to show signs of wear, it should be taken to a jewelry professional for polishing and replating.
Cleaning::
The best method for cleaning all your jewelry is to soak each item in a mixture of lukewarm water and gentle dish washing liquid followed by a very light cleaning with a soft child’s toothbrush.
